SAVVY Felicitates Successful Business Women From Different Fields - 'SAVVY Honours - Celebrating Success' Awards 2016

After a successful show in Delhi, the second edition of the 'SAVVY Honours - Celebrating Success' held in Mumbai at the fabulous Taj Santacruz, was a resounding success. The glamorous evening saw a line-up of incredible women entrepreneurs being honoured by the stars for their incredible endeavours. 'SAVVY' has always empowered women and taking this notion further, they have launched an associate magazine 'SAVVY Honours - Celebrating Success'. Bold, beautiful, talented and full of gumption - 'SAVVY' raises a toast to women entrepreneurs who are rising up to the challenge and taking their endeavours to new heights. Be it art, fashion, the corporate sector, education, medicine, fitness, advertising, image consultancy, writing or interior design, no matter the field, these women have stood their ground and battled the odds to make their businesses a resounding success. To honour their efforts and salute their achievements, 'SAVVY' presents a special edition of 'SAVVY Honours - Celebrating Success' which will feature the amazing work these women continue to excel at.

The crème de la creme that flocked to the grand Taj Santacruz Hotel to stand witness to this momentous occasion included Gulshan Grover, Poonam Dhillon, Pooja Batra, Rituparna Sengupta, Madhoo Shah, Nawaz Singhania, Schauna Chauhan, Zeba Mitha Kohli, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ramesh and Kiran Sippy, Deepshikha, Shaina NC, Roshni and Parvez Damania, Harshvardhan Rane, Suzzane Sablok Pillai, Sunaina Roshan, Sandhya Shetty, Payal Ghosh, television's Divyangana Jain, Jinal Bilani, Rucha Gujarati and many others. Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff's cameo further raised temperatures - in fact, all the awardees vied with each other for a photograph with him. But the icing on the cake was the Chief Guest for the evening, super charming superstar Dharmendra who had the audience lauding to every word he said.

The 17 successful women honoured during the grand event were from different walks of life. These included:

1) Annada Joshi, Writer

Born and brought up in Mumbai, Annada Joshi is a multi-talented writer. In a short while, she has managed to write about various topics like beauty, fashion, makeup, the Internet, relationships, shopping etc. Annada's background in engineering helped her critical thinking develop. Critical thinking fused with her creative instinct, makes her a razor-sharp writer.

2) Anu Kedia, Artist

Known for her artworks, Anu Kedia believes in chasing her dreams with an undeterred spirit. She loves choosing projects that inspire and make her happy. Having grown up with opportunities to visit various historical sites combined with her keenness to observe finer details of art, they left a lasting impression on her. Her brand 'The Artist' has created art pieces that touch and influence people's lives on a daily basis.

3) Archhana Smart, Interior Designer

With vast experience in the field of design, Archhana Smart established Prahheelika Design Studios in 2014. Her design studio caters to the multiple needs that enhance a home and offers a quality way of living. She believes in great detailing and designs that make kitchens better functional spaces. For many years, Archhana has been involved in helping several Italian kitchen brands set up their stores in Mumbai. She has also been associated with Italian kitchen companies at various senior levels of management. Incidentally, Prahheelika Design Studios also represents the world's leading and innovative Italian brand Modulnova.

4) Asma Gulzar, Fashion Designer

Fashion designer Asma Gulzar has been passionate about designing clothes since her childhood. She graduated from BVM, Lucknow, before securing a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi. Asma started her career as a designer with a partner in New Delhi in 2003, and thereafter launched her very first independent label known as 'Aida Couture - The Fashion Hub' in 2008.

5) Dr Daphne Pillai, Educationist

Dr Daphne Pillai is the Chairperson, Management Board of Mahatma Education Society and Co-Founder of the Pillai Group of Institutions and a leading educationist for over 30 years. She has created new vistas in women's empowerment by initiating and implementing several projects for the upliftment of women, including a literacy drive for women in slums. She is also responsible for many collaborative programs with reputed international universities and organisations.

6) Dr Nandita Palshetkar, IVF Specialist

She is one of the early visionaries who brought the now famous IVF treatment within reach of the common man and has tirelessly worked to spread the benefits of IVF technology across India. She is the President of the Mumbai Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society (MOGS) and Director of eight Bloom IVF Centers - Lilavati Hospital IVF Centre, Mumbai; Bhatia Hospital Bloom IVF Centre, Mumbai; D Y Patil Bloom IVF Fertility Centre, Navi Mumbai; Fortis La Femme IVF Centre in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Faridabad; Fortis Bloom IVF Centre, Chandigarh; Fortis Hiranandani IVF Centre, Navi Mumbai; and Babies & Us IVF Centre, Mumbai.

7) Kanchan Kulkarni, Fashion Designer

Born in Mumbai and raised in Dubai, she started her own label Kara two years ago which is already making major strides in the fashion world with back-to-back debut shows at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Doha and the India Beach Fashion Week in Goa where the stunning Waluscha De Sousa was her showstopper.

8) Kirti Kabra, Corporate Director

An early marriage kept her away from her dream to be a successful businesswoman. However, like they say, it's all written in the stars, and she got married into a family with a business background and got into the business. Nothing has stopped her ever since. Kirti Kabra, Director, RR Kabel, one of the most crucial pillars of RR Global, is truly an inspiration.

9) Madhuri Bhaduri, Artist

Super talented, focussed and dynamic artist par excellence, she packs an enviable record of experience of four decades in her creative field. In fact, her talent has been given a thumbs up from none other than art maestros like Jamshedji Bhabha, Maharani Gayatri Devi, SH Raza, Harsh Goenka and many more.

10) Manisha Mishra, Image Consultant

A certified Senior Image Consultant and Master Trainer, she has earned a world-class degree specialising in the artistic, social and psychological aspects of appearance, image and reputation. She is a presenter, consultant and coach to private individuals, corporate organisations, government and academic organisations. She has helped many individual clients manage their image better and achieve success in their respective lives

11) Meety Bagga, Fashion Designer

Hailing from Varanasi, fashion designer Meety Bagga has a natural passion for the art of Benarasi weaving. Fabrics such as Tanjore, Benarasi and Organza, which were long forgotten, are being revived in her creations. She has worked with celebrities such as Shabana Azmi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Padmini Kolhapure to name a few. She has participated in various exhibitions in Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Hyderabad, Singapore and Japan, and is the recipient of several prestigious awards.

12) Neeta Pathare, Artist

Artist and founder of Cobalt Arts, Mumbai, her gallery brings together masters, senior artists and promising artists on one platform. Cobalt Arts offers art consultancy services which assist art collectors in making well-informed choices while selecting artworks. Her work has been displayed across India, Dubai and USA.

13) Parull Mahaajan, Environment Activist and Interior Designer

Having successfully completed more than 100 sites in the past 10 years, young and dynamic Gurgaon-based environment activist and interior designer Parull Mahaajan, Co-Founder of House of Design, has the distinction of creating bespoke spaces. Parull has indeed understood the need to conserve the environment through her work and specializes in balancing client requirements with environmentally-sustainable practices.

14) Prreeti Kumar, Fashion Designer

Young and beautiful, Prreeti Kumar is one of those designers who has tasted the fruit of success on her own steam. A leading name from the designer brigade, Prreeti's philosophy of simplicity-meets-style has brought about a revolution in women's clothing. This is the story of a woman who decided to become an entrepreneur and also do her bit by creating employment opportunities for people.

15) Rajshree Vora, Obesity Consultant, Yoga Therapist and Researcher

Yoga Teacher, Yoga Therapist, Psychologist, Diet Therapist, Su Jok Therapist (directly trained by Prof Park Jae Woo), Nutrition and Health Educator, Rajshree Vora - through her research, hard work and determination - has created 'Rajshree Yoga', the center that accommodates students from various age groups. She believes that life is beautiful and if we want to experience the true beauty of life, we must have a healthy and energetic body and mind. Her happiest moment is when her students achieve their desired weight after heavy weight loss.

16) Sandhiya Mehta, Numerologist and Vastu Expert

Regarded as the 'Indian Nostradamus' for her exceptional work in the field of numerology and self-energy development, Sandhiya Mehta strongly believes that the universal energies when balanced, will help you achieve your dreams, as long as you stride forward with confidence and a positive outlook. Despite having an academic background in science and law, she found her calling in the realm of occult sciences and has dedicated herself to help people find the right way.

17) Vandana Sethhi, Marketing and Advertising Professional

'An attitude called advertising': that's the signature of Vandana Sethhi. The Director of a 360-degree communications agency, Water Communications is the architect of several successful brands in the market. She is a seasoned marketing communications professional with 25 years of advertising experience that cuts across white goods, IT & office automation, retail, grooming, real estate, automotive & lubes, tourism and consumer electronics sectors. Her 'out-of-the-box' insights are endorsed by advertising masters and brand leaders alike. Vandana Sethhi believes that advertising is a celebration of passion, intellect, consumers, markets, products, creativity and most importantly, life! One of her latest social initiatives includes 'Gaali Free India', an initiative aimed at cleansing the society off gaalis to provide a better language for our next generation.

Following the award ceremony, the magazine - in which the recipients of the awards shared their courageous journeys of making it in the business world - was unveiled by the amazing Dharmendra along with Nari Hira, Chairman, Magna Publishing Co. Ltd; Ashok Dhamankar, Director, Magna and Andrea CostaBir, Editor, 'SAVVY'.

The starry evening rounded off with cocktails and dinner, the perfect finish to a fabulous affair.
